Diane

Known as “Mrs. Cox in Purple Socks” to her students, Diane Cox was a school librarian in the Omaha Public Schools for over 20 years.  After 45 years of teaching, she retired, and is now available to tell her stories even more.  Specializing in folklore, historical, personal and family stories and custom stories, she has been telling stories to all ages and audiences for over 20 years.  She is a frequent teller in school districts in the Metro Area, as well as libraries.  She enjoys being a regional teller at the Kansas City Storytelling Celebration.  Currently an officer of OOPS-NE, she also is a member of the River and Prairie Storyweavers (Kansas City area based guild).  She is the Nebraska State Liaison in the National Storytelling Network and the National Youth Storytelling Showcase.  She is a regular attendee of the National Storytelling Conference, enjoying the company of storytellers from across the nation. In June 2017, she shared stories at a Fringe performance at the Conference.

She is available to tell stories to children, adults, seniors, businesses, and family events.  If you are interested in having her tell stories to your organization, it is easiest to reach her through email:  coxinsox@cox.net
